Trivia Bee for Literacy!
According to mythology, who is said to support the world on his shoulders? The Statue of Liberty holds the torch in which hand? What is the longest river in the United States? What Zodiac sign begins and ends with the same letter? Name a planet in our in our solar system that has no moon. What are the names of the two lions that sit in front of the New York Public Library?
No matter whether you are a trivia aficionado or a trivia ‘new-bee’, you won’t want to miss out on the upcoming Trivia Bee benefit in support of Butte County Library Literacy Services to be held on Friday, November 2nd at The Palms in Chico where teams will compete for the prestigious title of 2012 Trivia Champions of Butte County!
YOU can take part! Sponsor a team or c’mon out and root for your favorite team and play along in the audience, but please do plan to ‘bee’ there! It should be a wonderful evening–good food, great cheer, and a bit of friendly spirited competition–all celebrating and supporting Literacy!
Funds raised through the Trivia Bee will be used to provide learning materials, resources, and support for adults and children in our community working so hard to improve their basic reading and writing skills.
And now back to the questions—how’d you do? For the answers and more information about the Trivia Bee and/or Literacy Services, visit the Library website at www.buttecounty.net/library/literacy and click on the Trivia Bee link and/or give a buzz to 1(888) 538-7198.
