Founded in 1994, the Barry R. Kirshner Wildlife Sanctuary is a special place right here in Butte County. Equal parts wildlife sanctuary, educational park, and research center, the Sanctuary is home to a remarkable assortment of non-releasable wild and exotic animals, many of them endangered species. Our animals have the potential to inspire minds and to change lives! They are only a few of our natural wonders that we are close to losing forever.
The facility offers unique on and off-site educational programs across all learning levels, from preschool to professional. These programs are offered in nine languages. We also conduct non-invasive research on animal behavior, medical care and nutrition.
Tickets are $30 in advance and available at the Kirshner Wildife Sanctuary, Oroville Grocery Outlet, Lake Oroville Golf & Event Center and Diamond W Wesern Wear in Chico. Tickets are $35 at the door. Attendees must be at 21 years of age.
Walk on the Wild Side is sponsored by Mooretown Rancheria, Feather Falls Casino, Lodge and Brewing Co., and Casa Lupe. The event is presented by Oroville Grocery Outlet and the Lake Oroville Golf & Event Center.
If you would like to more information, call Oroville Grocery Outlet at 534-3940 and ask for Chris or the Sanctuary at 533-1000.
