On Saturday, September 15th, Oroville Hospital and Fitness for Teens will be hosting a Healthy Hustle 5K Teen Walk-a-thon for kid’s ages 8 to 18. The walk-a-thon is free to the public and includes educational information, a raffle, and a free T-shirt for participating. The event takes place at Eagle Point Pavilion at Riverbend Park, just off of Highway 70 at the Montgomery Street exit.
All kids are welcome to come out and participate in this fun event. Registration begins at 8:00 am and the walk will start at 9:00 am. Groups will take turns walking around the trail at Riverbend Park, taking breaks throughout the 5K to learn about healthy activities, the fitness for teens program, receive nutrition advice, and learn about fun and exciting ways to make health and fitness be a part of their every day lives.
If you would like to participate please pre-register at Dr. Alice Alino’s office at 533-4422 or with Joyce White, RN at 532-8271. Kids can also come the day of the event to register. Parents or a legal guardian must sign a release form in order for their child to participate. Kids between the ages 8 and 10 will need supervision during the walk-a-thon. Come out and have fun at the first ever Healthy Hustle 5K Teen Walk-a-thon!
