The City of Oroville recently released a Request for
Proposals offering to lease space of a City-owned, 150 foot tall lattice telecommunications
tower that is located at the southeast corner of Arlin Rhine Memorial Drive and Lincoln Street.
The lattice tower is visible from many parts of the Historic Downtown District, as well as from
Highway 70.
The Request for Proposals provides specific details including provisions for lease and other
payments. The tower site also includes an existing equipment storage facility. Oroville’s City
Administrator, Randy Murphy stated, “The tower is currently underutilized in its current state
and could provide additional income to the City as well as a valuable communications asset to
the right applicant.”
Additional information about the Request for Proposal, which is due to the City by 4:30 P.M.
January 31, 2014, can be obtained by visiting the City website: (Doing
Business/RFP, RFQ, Public Bids) or by calling Luis Topete at (530) 538-2408.
