The Digger Shopper & News  is a community newspaper that serves the residents and businesses in the greater Oroville area. We provide the good news in, and focus primarily on, our community.

The Digger Shopper & News was established in August 1977.  It is locally owned and operated by local people with the interests of the area residents at heart.

Editorial Content

The content of the newspaper is as follows:

• News from the community for the community. We rely on interesting news/press releases and events submitted to us for possible publication. The paper publishes news on community events, local activities, recreation, arts, leisure and travel. things to do and places to go.  We also have special sections and local columns on automotive, busy moms, pets and the perspective of a “newcomer.” We don’t have a letters to the editor, or a sports section, or a police blotter. We publish news that other publications skip. We also rely on having enough advertising to support our efforts of providing our community with interesting, useful news each week.

About The Editor

Patti Day-Miller was the Language Arts Consultant for the Bartholomew County School District in Columbus, Indiana, before leaving to serve on the publishing board for Harcourt, Brace Jovanovich in Orlando, Florida. Moving with her husband to Oroville, California, she now edits all the publications of Great Ad-Ventures Publishing, Inc.
