Slice of Chico, July 12
Downtown Merchants and the Downtown Chico Business Association (DCBA) invite you to “Shop Outside the Box” at Slice of Chico, Saturday July 12th. Downtown’s annual summer sidewalk sale and watermelon giveaway begins at 9am. Sidewalks and storefronts are bursting with bargains and merchandise ranges from clothing, shoes and jewelry to home furnishings, art supplies and hardware. Downtown Chico has more than 200 shops and restaurants.
Known throughout the community as a summer-time tradition, Slice of Chico draws thousands into downtown for a day filled with great shopping, hot prices and free slices of ice-cold watermelon. Savings start early at 9am and free watermelon is served from the event headquarters on Third Street (between Main and Broadway) while supplies last. DCBA staff and volunteers will slice more than 2000 pounds of delicious, seedless watermelon, courtesy of ProPacific Fresh.
Generous community sponsors of the event are ProPacific Fresh, Tres Hombres Long Bar & Grill, Oldies 102.1 and FOX 30 TV.
“The Downtown merchants look forward to providing the community a fabulous day of great shopping and good, old-fashioned customer service and, of course, a little refreshment,” says Becky Watner, DCBA Assistant Director. “The businesses really enjoy putting on this fun tradition!”
