Heritage Trails Picture Safari, Opens June 20
The show, Heritage Trails, 2008 Picture Safari, will open at Avenue 9 Gallery on June 20 with a reception from 5-8 p.m. This group show, which runs through July 26, features the work created during our Spring art-making campaign, documenting many of the special places that grace our community.
As some of you know, our program included a Quick-Draw competition at Bidwell Mansion, co-sponsored by the California State Park System and the Bidwell Mansion Association. The theme for the competition was “Heritage Trees” and Lenn Goldmann was our judge, awarding a first prize to Kathleen Lawrence-Davis, and honorable mentions to Marvey Mueller, Dori Murnieks, and Carol Preble-Miles--who is pictured on the invitation painting the most venerable 164-year-old Gingko tree planted by John Bidwell.
We hope you will join us. Avenue 9 Gallery is located at 180 East 9th Avenue in Chico. For more information, please call 879-1821.
