Hooked on Fishing, May 31
The Kiwanis Club of Oroville is sponsoring the 11th annual “Get Hooked on Fishing… Not on Drugs” event on Saturday May 31, 2008. This fun filled morning at Bedrock Park is free and open to children age fourteen and younger.
Kids start the day with a free pancake breakfast at the Bedrock Park swimming lagoon at 7am. Then it’s off to fish! Kiwanis will stock the lagoon with several thousand Catfish and Steelhead Trout. For smaller and physically challenged fisher kids an easily accessible isolated pool of water will be stationed on the lawn area and stocked with Rainbow Trout.
Kiwanis will provide the bait and award many great prizes. If you need to borrow a rod and reel Kiwanis will have those available too. Safety demonstrations will be provided by the Kiwanis Fire Safety Education House, Oroville firefighters will be there with fire trucks, along with A California Highway Patrol Safety Officer, Ident-A-Child and Oroville Hospital Paramedics.
So, have some fun, get hooked on fishing and learn about some of the great things our community has to offer. For more information please call the office of Gary J. Soudan DDS at 533-3142 or Gary Leonard at 538-8603.
