Spring Mud & Crawl at Surplus City, April 26 & 27

The 2nd Annual Surplus City Spring Mud & Crawl, sponsored by Surplus City, C-J Jeep.com, Feather River Rock Crawlers and Gridley Country Ford-Mercury, will be packed full of thrills, chills and spills when daring drivers from all over the North State compete in their custom 4WD vehicles on specially designed courses over the rocks and through the mud for trophies and cash prizes April 26 & 27 at Riffles RV Park, 4515 Pacific Heights Rd., Oroville, CA.

  The Rock Crawl Course
Witness drivers competing in four classes -- modified A, modified B, super modified and unlimited -- attempt  to maneuver their vehicles over the 80-foot long and 25-foot wide Surplus City rock course constructed of  rocks as small as 2-feet in diameter to as large as 6-feet in diameter. And just to make it a real challenge, three 4-foot cement culverts have been placed in strategic locations to really test the competitors’ skills and vehicles. Watch as the best of the best work their way across the course and through the two most treacherous spots – named Turtle Rock and Samurai Hole -- the fastest – without rolling over! Will they all make it? Fans and drivers alike will be holding their breath to see.
The Surplus City Teeter-Totter
The ONLY ONE OF ITS KIND, the infamous Gravity Zone Teeter-Totter, specially designed and fabricated by Surplus City for this competition, offers drivers (in both men’s and women’s classes) an unparalleled challenge. Made from a 30-foot bridge span the Teeter-Totter tests the finesse of drivers as they work to maneuver their 4WDs into just the right spot to balance the Teeter-Totter so that both ends remain 2-feet off the ground. How many will make it? How many will bring one end or the other crashing to the ground?
The Mud Bog
Stand back ---waaay back -- and watch the mud fly as drivers competing in four classes – 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder, 8 cylinder and unlimited – slog their way through the thick, gooey mud bog. How many drivers traversing the 100-foot long, 3-foot deep mud bog course will make it and how many will get bogged down and have to be towed out?
