YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day, April 12
Oroville area residents, please join us for a public meeting April 10th, 2008 at 6:00 pm in the City Council Chambers, 1735 Montgomery Street, to discuss the final stages and adoption of the City of Oroville’s Development Code Update.
This meeting represents the culmination of almost 2 years of public input, comments and review. The Development Code Update is a comprehensive update of the City’s existing Subdivision, Grading and Zoning ordinances (Development Code). This update also includes the creation and proposed adoption of the City of Oroville Design Guidelines. Once adopted by the City Council; the Subdivision, Grading and Zoning ordinances will replace the existing Subdivision, Grading and Zoning Ordinances and will apply to all of the properties located within the city limits of Oroville. The Ordinances will serve as the framework to guide, govern and define the character of all development within the City limits.
The Development Code Update is part of the City of Oroville’s comprehensive General Plan Update. The General Plan Update began in 2005 with a large public outreach campaign, which included extensive multi-lingual advertising, multiple community meetings and the selection of a 10 member (currently 9) citizen’s advisory group which constituted the General Plan Steering Committee. The Steering Committee participated in more than twenty public meetings, three of which were focused primarily on the Development Code and the creation of the City of Oroville Development Guidelines.
In order to conform to California Environmental Quality Act requirements, the City has conducted an Environmental Analysis and has prepared a Negative Declaration which was circulated for public review (Posted Dec 4, 2007).The draft documents are available in CD format at City Hall for $5.
