Springfest Hip Hop Showcase, March 29
In the last year, Hip-Hop shows have been popping up throughout the North Valley, and Saturday, March 29 at 7 p.m. the phenomenon comes to Oroville. Hosted by the Thermalito Grange and presented by Mobile Music Records, this event will feature rap acts from the Chico and Oroville areas. Headlining the show is the duo of DMJ and Cris Kenyon, while other performers slated to appear are Seanessy, M.L.E., Deleon, Frank C. Mister, and others.
Originally the brainchild of Mark Johnson (DMJ), and then given life by the efforts of DMJ, Kenyon and Mobile Music Records, the show is open to teenagers and adults. The fact that the show is available to teens is important to the headlining duo, which will be peforming at Las Plumas High School on March 27th in support of the show two nights later.
Less than a year after teaming up, “DMJ and Cris Kenyon” have performed close to 40 shows. While perfecting their on-stage act, the duo has also “opened” for groups, such as The Hooliganz, J. Diggs, and the renowned Moonshine Bandits. They are working on their duo CD entitled “Reflections.”
Tickets for the show are just $5 and can be purchased at The Underground in Oroville, at the front door on the night of the show, or by contacting Mobile Music Records at Mobilemusicrecords.com or Chris and DMJ at Myspace.com/DMJChrisKenyon
