Directors Raquel and Ana Piña today announced the cast for The Birdcage Theatres Production, The Seven Year Itch by George Axelrod: Dennis Perri (Richard Sherman), Marchia Ryborz (The Girl), Joyce Gaza (Helen Sherman), Emily Pierce (Ricki), Sarah Pierce (Miss Morris), Cheryl Northup (Elaine), Judy McCullough (voice The Girls conscious), Damon Robison (voice Richards conscious), Vince Carano (Tom Mackenzie), Dr. Brubaker (Howard Moore), Alexandra Olson (Pat), and Bethanie Johns (Marie),
The Birdcage Theatre opens their 27th Season with an oh no he didnt comedy titled The Seven Year Itch. A true tickle-your-funny bone play, which takes place in the summertime in Manhattan, where the average looking Richard Sherman (Dennis Perri) sends his wife (Joyce Gaza) and daughter (Emily Pierce) for a vacation in the country. Sherman is an imaginative individual, and is the key man of a publishing firm, Brady & Company, which publishes cheap pocket books. Once he sends his family away he realizes he lives a rather routine plain life and then the doorbell buzzes and routine is out the door and in comes a drop dead gorgeous brunette. So begins the comedic turmoil of Richard Sherman, you are not going to want to miss The Seven Year Itch.
The Seven Year Itch opens for the public Friday, September 10th and will run through Sunday, September 26th, with Friday and Saturday Showtimes at 7:30 PM and Sunday Matinees at 2 PM. Doors will open one hour before show times for socializing and to enjoy the new Birdcage Theatre Beautification Project where wine, and more will be sold.
