Lambert Featured Artist for September
Lauralyn Lambert is Septembers featured artist at Artists of River Town Gallery & Gifts, 1435 Myers St. Lamberts encaustic and acrylic paintings headline the show. Works by 14 other local artists will stress salmon and salmon habitat in keeping with Orovilles annual Salmon Festival Sept. 24-25. Along with paintings in various mediums, sculptures, photographs and prints will be on display. A real estate agent by day, Lambert devotes most of her leisure time to art, especially to a newly discovered passion for encaustics, which involves applying pigmented hot wax to canvas or some other surface. She will be on hand for discussion of her work and techniques during a free public reception on Friday, Sept. 3rd, from 3 to 7 p.m. The show continues through Sept. 25th during regular gallery hours, Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call Machelle at 533-4140, or visit artistofrivertown.com.
