Mining Artwork Arrives in Downtown Oroville
The Historic Downtown area of Oroville soon will be sporting a collection of antique mining equipment that is being placed in a building refurbishment project that is nearing completion. The equipment, which was all sourced locally, includes a large steel wheel, various buckets, scoops; a mining cart and a water wagon will enhance the decorative concrete parking areas which are adjacent to over 9000 square feet of retail and commercial space. Owner and developer Steve Seidenglanz, who has been working on the project for some time, is anticipating completion within the next thirty days. Mr. Seidenglanz stated, This has been an interesting project to develop and our goal has been to place the antique equipment in an area that can be enjoyed by the public.
Oroville Park Commissioner Freda Flint, when contacted said, What a fantastic use of antique equipment reminiscent of an era gone past, going on to say, Hopefully this project will inspire others to consider using what we have from the past to bring recognition to the downtown area.
The newly refurbished buildings are located at 2167 Montgomery Street near the Pioneer Memorial Museum.
