Cat Adoptions at BHS & Chico Mall
(CHICO, CA) Summer is here, and the seasonal flood of cats and kittens has already exceeded the capacity of Chicos animal shelter. Currently BHS has over 150 cats on site and 200 cats in foster care to choose from.
To humanely reduce the feline population, Butte Humane Society, in partnership with the Chico Mall, will also be holding Mall Cats mobile events every Saturday and Sunday through August. Adoptable cats and kittens will be located inside next to JC Penneys from 12-5 pm, with the last adoption starting at 4:30 pm. All cat adoptions are processed on site, with no appointment necessary. Adoptions are on a first come, first serve basis, so be sure to get there early for the best selection of furry new friends.
Last summer, BHS had a record 31 adoptions on a single Saturday. The shelter hopes to have a few more days like that to bring the shelters population down to a safe and healthy level without need for euthanasia.
