Make a Splash @ Your Library This Summer!


Explore the world of water and water fun through stories, songs, games and other activities about oceans, rivers, lakes, and pools and the creatures that live there. The 2010 Summer Library Program is open to young people, preschool through young adult, with programs, prizes and more. Registration begins June 1st, and all Butte County Library branches will offer programs, story hours, special events and more. Each participant should check with their local branch for specific sign up dates and to receive a logbook for recording titles of books read during the summer.
Library branches in Chico, Durham, Gridley, Oroville and Paradise will offer regularly scheduled story times and special programs, all free of charge, from June 1st through August 21st. Biggs patrons are invited to share Gridley Branch activities.
Wild Things, Inc., a wildlife educational program is being featured July 7th. Oroville Branch will host the event at 10:30 am, followed by Chico Branch at 1:00 pm this program is sponsored by the Chico and Oroville Friends of the Library groups.
Chico Branch is offering several story times for preschool, toddlers and all ages throughout each week and be sure to attend the Folk Music Show on June 17th at 1:00 pm as well as the Make A Splash party on July 29th at 1:00.
Visit Durham Branch on Tuesdays at 2 pm beginning June 22nd and Gridley Branch on Wednesdays at 2 pm beginning June 23rd for a variety of fun activities for youth of all ages.
Oroville Branch will have movies, story times, play times, crafts and a special Carnival of Animals Marionette Puppet presented by the Fratello Brothers on August 4th at 2:00 pm.
Paradise Branch kicks off with sign-ups beginning June 4th and activities every Friday at 11:00 am for preschool and elementary age kids. Paradise kids will celebrate the last day with a Beach Party on July 30th. Dont miss special guest storyteller and musician, John Carter, on Friday June 11th at 11:00 am.
Chico, Oroville and Paradise are all also offering a special Summer Library Program with reading incentives and prizes for adults come Water Your Mind @ Your Library! Check with your local branch for details.
