Support Your Local Libary at Bookfair, March 20-21, 2010
Support your Butte County Library by shopping at the Chico Barnes & Noble. In an effort build a countywide base of support for the Library, the Chico, Durham, Gridley, Oroville, and Paradise Friends of the Library and the Love Your Library Committee are working together with Barnes & Noble Booksellers by hosting a bookfair at the Chico Barnes & Noble store. Our goals are to raise funds for future activities, raise awareness of what the library and each branch has to offer, sign up new library cardholders and new Friends members, and to provide an opportunity for supporters to purchase books from the librarians wish lists for their local library.
On Saturday, March 20, and Sunday, March 21, from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, Barnes & Noble will contribute 15% of every sale made with a special bookfair voucher to the Love Your Library Committee. In addition, supporters may also purchase books and materials from wish lists created by each of the branch librarians. The wish lists will be posted at the branches in the weeks leading up to the bookfair and at the Chico Barnes and Noble on March 20 and 21.
There will also be a childrens storytime, poetry readings, gift wrapping, and raffles. On Saturday at 1:30, CUSD Elementary Teacher Librarian Mr. Specchierla will be reading some of his favorite books, including The Odd Egg, and Clifford the Big Red Dog will be at story time at 2:00. Dont forget to bring your camera!
You can cut out and use the voucher(s) below. Vouchers will also be available on the Butte County Library and Friends websites, as well as at the branch libraries. If you dont have a voucher, simply tell the cashier that you Love your Library and Barnes and Noble will credit your purchase toward the sale.
If you are unable to go to the store on March 20 and 21, you may also call the store (894-1494) on those days and place a phone order. Again, be sure to tell the customer service representative that you Love Your Library. Online sales made on the 20th and 21st may also be credited to the bookfair, but only if you begin your shopping at www.bn.com/bookfairs and use voucher number 10138956 when prompted.
