California State Horsemen’s Reining Series Begins


The first of four Reining shows held annually by the California State Horsemens Association, Inc. (CSHA) Region 2 will begin on March 6 at Saddle Creek Ranch, 2947 Messilla Valley Rd., Butte Valley.
The show starts at 8 a.m., and competitors may register on site or in advance.
The show is free to spectators who are encouraged to attend and bring their own chairs. Food and beverages are available through concession on site.
The Reining Shows are open to all level riders from beginners to professionals.
The shows will also offer all riders a chance to win a silver buckle in their class(es) for best cumulative score from all four shows. To encourage new riders to the discipline the Rookie class champion will also be awarded a Reining saddle along with the silver buckle.
Dates for the other three shows in the series are: April 10, May 8 and June 5.
CSHA members can accumulate points to qualify for the year-end Show of Champions in October. The West Coast Reining Horse Association and APHA Pac also sanction the shows for points to their respective organizations.
