February is Love Your Library Month

February is “Love Your Library” Month at Butte County Library.  Each year this month-long celebration provides the perfect opportunity to recognize the important role libraries play in local communities.  As we have seen during this past year, the importance of library services is more prominent than ever as libraries become very invaluable resources during tough economic times.  All over the country, library staff members are reporting significant increases in the number of people coming in to use the computers, search for jobs, update resumes, check out materials, gather resources and enjoy the no-cost recreational activities and programs.  Butte County Library is no exception; visit your local library branch today and see all that we have to offer.
What can you do to show how much you love your library?  There are many important ways for you to show how much you value the many materials, programs and services available at your public library.  For example, you could join your local Friends of the Library group; buy books at the Friends’ book sales; attend library events and programs; become a library volunteer or literacy tutor; donate money or your used books, CDs and DVDs; and most important of all – enjoy using your library.
For more information about “Love Your Library” month or about any of the many other ways to support your public library, visit www.buttecounty.net/bclibrary or phone 530-538-7525.
