Year of the Tiger Asian Tea, February 13, 2010
The Butte County Historical Society’s Second Annual Tea will be held at the Ehmann Home on February 13. The date coincides with the Chinese New Year—this year being the Year of the Tiger. The Asian theme of this year’s Tea will feature Asian cuisine and special Asian music. There will be a gift Boutique, raffles and door prizes.
The Tea will have two seatings. Each is limited to 48 persons. The first seating is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The second seating is from 1:30-3:00.
A special feature of this year’s Tea will be local artifacts from the Society’s archives, which commemorate the role of Asian populations in Butte County history. The Tea, which is one of the major fund-raisers for BCHS, is a festive occasion. Last year some of the attendees dressed in full tea regalia with hats, gloves, and vintage dress. Others came in casual clothes. All had a good time.
