Veterans Aid Workshop, February 4, 2010
A workshop entitled “Veterans Aid & Attendance Benefits: A Part of Estate and Long Term Care Planning” is scheduled for February 4th, 3:00 to 5:00 PM at The Terraces, 2750 Sierra Sunrise Terrace, in Chico.
This workshop is designed to educate people about the basics of Veterans Aid & Attendance (A&A) benefit, which provides income to help pay for eligible seniors’ stay at assisted living facilities. In addition, participants will hear how these benefits play a part of estate and long term care planning, and how annuities have advantages and disadvantages in long term care planning. Those attending will have an opportunity to share their A&A experiences, and get answers to their questions.
Panelists include Cliff McFelter from the Butte County Veterans Service Office, Neil Harris, a certified Elder Law Attorney, and Nicole R Plottel, Attorney at Law. The program will be moderated by Tatiana Fassieux, Program Manager of PASSAGES HICAP, the Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program, and co-sponsored by The Terraces.
