Native Plant Presentation, January 21, 2010
Spring is around the corner. Are you thinking of your garden and landscaping? Are you interested in, or do you have questions about Native Plants? Would you like to know which native plants are drought-tolerant, deer-resistant, considered “firewise,” or ones that will thrive in the shade along your creek? Native plants “are perfectly adapted to our weather and soils.” Native plants “are often easy to grow and require little maintenance or pruning.”
The Forbestown Ridge Fire Safe Council, in cooperation with Feather River Recreation and Parks Department, invites you to join us on Thursday January 21, 2010, from noon to 2:30 at the Forbestown Hall on New York Flat Road. Germain Boivin of Floral Native Nursery (Chico) will be the featured speaker. His presentation includes sample plants, and will be followed by a question and answer session. Floral Native Nursery specializes in growing and selling California Native Plants, and “features 150 species of California indigenous plants.”
Please join us on January 21 at this free presentation about native plants, highlighting firewise and drought-tolerant plants for our area.
