WiFi Available in Four Butte County Libraries
Visitors to the Oroville and Paradise branches of the Butte County Library can now take advantage of free WiFi services. Thanks to funding provided by both the Oroville Friends of the Library and Paradise Friends of the Library, WiFi has been installed at both libraries and is available during open hours. Branch Librarians, Brenda Crotts and Rochelle Carr, both report that the installation is working well and is a welcome addition to traditional library services. “This is a wonderful early Christmas present for all our library users,” says Crotts.
Having wireless internet available at the Oroville and Paradise Library branches will not only make it much easier for people who have laptops to get their online activities done at the Library, but it also frees up more time on shared public computers for other visitors. Currently, over 1,500 users per month access the internet using the 11 public computer stations available at the Oroville branch and over 1,200 users per month access the internet using the 9 public computer stations available at the Paradise branch.
Wireless internet access is available completely free of charge to the public during any time that the library branches are open and there are no time limits. WiFi is now available at the Chico, Gridley, Oroville and Paradise Library branches.
