Hometown Christmas in Forbestown, November 28, 2009
Journey up to the foothills on Saturday, November 28, and start your Christmas Season off with a stroll along the boardwalks under twinkling lantern light in Gold Trader Flat, a replica town of the 1800’s located next to the Yuba Feather Museum, at 19096 New York Flat Road in Forbestown.
The tempting aroma of spicy sausages cooked over an open grill will whet your appetite. Hot chocolate and cups of hot spiced cider will warm you as you listen to the music of carolers, fiddles and banjos and visit at the old stable where Mary and Joseph watch over the Babe in the manager. Sit in the chapel for awhile and enjoy organ music played on the old pump organ. Characters from the past might include fur trappers and traders, elegant ladies in beautiful gowns and gentlemen in top hats and of course, a visit from Father Christmas.
Shops and tents will be filled with Christmas wares and you can find the perfect gift for that special someone. If you would like to sell handmade goods there are 46 spaces available on a first come basis for a $25 tax deductible donation per space.
