YMCA’s Holiday Party, December 4, 2009

The YMCA’s tenth annual Holiday Party and Silent Auction is Friday, December 4th from 6pm to 9pm at the Southside Community Center. This party is one of the most fun events you can attend during the Christmas season. The price of tickets includes wine tasting by Grey Fox, and Quilici Vineyards; beer tasting by Western Pacific Brewing and Dining and Feather River Brewing Company; a wide variety of food; a coffee and dessert bar by Mug Shots; and live music by The Crawlers.
“This event brings out the best of our community,” states President of the Board, Dick Waugh. “So many local businesses and friends of the YMCA have generously given exciting items up for bid at this year’s event.” From theme gift baskets to business owner specials, this event is one not to miss! “The most excited item up for bid is a certificate to drive a Train Locomotive for one hour!” according to Celeste Silva, Executive Director.
The Digger Shopper and News has donated a $50 gift card to Sierra Nevada Brewing restaurant or gift shop. There is gorgeous jewelry and watches, spa packages, theater tickets and dinning. For those that like working on their cars or house, there are great items from the Carpets Galore, Auto Zone and Better Deal Exchange. Want to get out of town? There is a cabin stay at Caribou Crossing; a night stay at Atlantis Casino and Spa in Reno; and Disneyland tickets. To get you there Hobbie Auto Center has given a car rental. The list of items to bid on just keeps growing!
The funds raised from the auction assist the YMCA in serving the greater Oroville area and Butte County community. YMCA programs include after school programs, day camps, Tai Chi, Yoga, and many aquatic programs and job training and employment for the youth. Advanced tickets purchased by December 1st are $25 per person or two for $40. If not sold out, tickets can be purchased after December 1st and at the door for $30 per person. Contact the YMCA at 533-9622 or stop in at the corner of Oak & Robinson Streets to purchase tickets.

Thank you for this information...have just ordered two tickets and requested YMCA to put me on their E-Mail info. Am thinking if I and others, like me, exercise at YMCA, do swimming things, etc., we can re-invent our broken bodies...old-age. (giggle...I am The Newcomer...
