City of Oroville Announces Leaf Pick-up Program
The Citys annual fall leaf pick-up program started on November 2nd and will continue through February 3, 2010. The City has been recognized for the past 29 years as one of the Tree City USA recipients. Along with the beauty of the trees, and the value in cleaning our air and water, moderating heat and cold, and bring warmth and grace to the community, they do have a downfall excessive leaves this time of the year.
The purpose of the annual leaf pick-up program is to assist in removing excessive green waste. The City asks that residents keep the following in mind which will help keep storm drains clear to accept water: (1) put as much as you can in your regular green waste container; (2) rake leaves onto the pavement about one foot from the curb line on the day before your scheduled street sweeping day; (3) call (530) 538-2420 or (530) 538-2415 for large accumulation pick-up.
