Paradise Branch of BC Library Announces Extended Hours

Interim Library Director, Roger Pearson said he is pleased to report the addition of 12 weekly hours of library service at the Paradise branch effective July 7, as a result of a commitment of funds by the local Paradise Friends of the Library group.
Last April, the Paradise Library branch open hours were reduced from 42 to 30 hours per week due to County budget cuts.  The Paradise Friends of the Library immediately took action and agreed to provide additional funding for one year in order to restore library hours at the Paradise branch.
Tuesday June 23rd, the Butte County Board of Supervisors approved the Paradise Friends of the Library $79,800 contract.  This funding will be used to add 1.5 full-time regular help positions and the library will again be open 42 hours per week beginning July 7.  The new hours will be 9 am to 7 pm, Tuesday through Thursday and 10 am to 4 pm, Friday and Saturday.  For information on other library programs and services, please visit our website at www.buttecounty.net/bclibrary.
