Chico’s Cat-A-Clysmic Adopt-A-Thon, June 27
Butte County Animal Control is celebrating the American Humane Associations national Adopt-A-Cat Month this June. Its the perfect time to promote cat adoptions because the spring and summer months typically bring a surge of cats to the nations shelters.
When cats are not neutered or spayed, they reproduce easily, and spring and summer are the seasons when cats are most active, resulting in more kittens showing up at our doors, says K. ‘Beau Beauregard, Animal Control Supervisor. We encourage people to visit and meet the great cats in our local shelters who are all looking for loving, permanent homes.
For the entire month of June, the Northwest SPCA is waiving adoption fees for adult cats and is offering a reduced adoption fee of $20.00 for kittens. All animals adopted include spay or neuter, all current vaccinations (rabies shot included), grooming and a free first pet starter pack. The Northwest SPCA is located in Oroville at 2787 South Fifth Avenue. For more information you may contact them at (530) 533-7636.
The Butte Humane Society is celebrating with a Cat-A-Clysmic Adopt-A-Thon on Saturday June 27. Like the Northwest SPCA, adoption fees of adult cats will also be waived, and the adoption fee for kittens is only $20.00. All adoptions include required vaccinations, spay or neuter, vet examination, microchip and cat carrier. The Butte Humane Society is located in Chico at 2579 Fair Street. For more information you may contact them at (530) 343-7917.
