BC Library Launches Summer Program


BE CREATIVE & EXPRESS YOURSELF @ YOUR LIBRARY THIS SUMMER!  Explore the worlds of music, dance, art, books and more.  The 2009 Summer Library Program is open to young people, preschool through young adult, with programs, prizes and more.  Families are invited to join the Read-to-Me portion of the program.  Registration begins June 5th, and all Butte County Library branches will offer programs, story hours, special events and more.  Each participant should sign up at their local library branch to receive a logbook for recording titles of books read during the summer.
 Library branches in Chico, Durham, Gridley, Oroville and Paradise will offer regularly scheduled story times and special programs, all free of charge, from June 5th  through June 30th.  Biggs patrons are invited to share Gridley Branch story times at 10 am on Fridays.
 Storyteller, Diane Ferlatte, will share her presentation “Have I Got a Story to Tell” on June 12th at 11:00 am in Chico and in Oroville at 1:30 pm. – This program is sponsored by a grant from the local Target store.
Wild Things, Inc., a wildlife educational program will be featured June 25th.  Chico Branch will host the event at 12:00 pm, followed by Oroville Branch at 3:00 pm. – This program is also sponsored by a grant from the local Target store.
 Visit Durham Branch on Tuesdays at 7 pm, beginning June 16th, for a variety of fun activities for youth of all ages.
 Paradise Branch will feature movies at 3:30 pm on June 23rd.  Join Guitar Hero on June 9th & 30th at 4 pm; Teen Poetry Writing June 10th, Teen Art Class June 17th and Who Done It for teens on June 24th; Be A Star! on June 12th at 11 am, Art Class June 19th at 11 am and a Talent Show on June 26th at 11 am.
 Oroville Branch will have movies on June 9th at 1 and 4 pm and June 23rd at 4:00 pm as well as a Summer Library Program with reading incentives and prizes for adults!
